Approx. 2 PM - 2 Ring Open Junior Doe Show to follow Senior Doe Show

Approx. 5 PM - 3 Ring Buck Show (Alpine & LaMancha Specialty, & Futurity)

All bucks must be in place and checked-in by 4:00 PM

Sunday (June 23)

6 AM— 8 AM - Goats may arrive, check-in, and final entries made

9 AM – Showmanship followed by 2 Ring Open Senior Doe Show & Alpine Specialty

Show Rules

1. ADGA RULES SHALL GOVERN.

2. The Senior and Junior doe shows are separately sanctioned by ADGA for the following breeds:

SENIOR AND JUNIOR DOES: Alpine, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian, Oberhasli,

Toggenburg, All Other Purebreds, Recorded Grade, and Best in Show

BUCKS: Alpine, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian, All Other Purebreds, and Best in Show

3. Senior and Junior Doe show order is as follows for both days:

Ring 1: Alpine, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian, All Other Purebreds, Oberhasli,

Toggenburg, Recorded Grade

Ring 2: Nigerian Dwarf, Alpine, LaMancha, All Other Purebreds, Oberhasli, Nubian,

Recorded Grade, Toggenburg

Buck show order is as follows:

Ring 1: Alpine, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian, AOP

Ring 2: LaMancha, Alpine, Nubian, AOP, Nigerian Dwarf

Ring 3: Nubian, Nigerian Dwarf, AOP, Alpine, LaMancha

4. The show committee reserve the right to change the order of the show.

5. Does must be in place and checked in with the show secretary no later than 8 AM Saturday or

Sunday morning. Bucks must be in place and checked and no later than 4 PM Friday afternoon.

All bucks older than 6 months of age must be tied to pen in someway.

6. Original registration papers (required for animals six months of age or older) or stamped

duplicates must be shown to the show secretary before the start of the show.

7. No pre-show milk out, but over-uddering is not recommended.

8. No horned animals allowed.

9. No visible signs of abscesses or other contagious diseases (pinkeye, ringworm, etc.) will be

allowed all. ALL ANIMALS MUST BE HEALTHY. A veterinarian will be called for any

unhealthy or questionable animal at the owner’s expense. Out-of-State animals are required to

have a health certificate issued within 30 days of the show and must comply with the Scrapie

regulations and should state that there are no signs of Scrapie or FMD in the originating heard.

No health papers required for Ohio goats.

10. Health checks will be done by show committee representatives. GOATS ARE TO ARRIVE

ONLY DURING THE TIMES NOTED AND ARE NOT TO BE UNLOADED UNTIL THE

HEALTH CHECK HAS BEEN COMPLETED. IF an exhibitor needs to arrive in an off hour,

arrangements must be made with the show committee prior to the show show.

11. Entries – No telephone entries will be accepted. Entries will be accepted via email using the

show entry form through midnight June 18, 2019. Those entering via email will be expected to

pay via PayPal at the time of submission. Failure to pay by midnight June 18, 2019 will

result in Late Entry fee rates. An e-mail response will be sent within 48 hours to acknowledge

all entries received via e-mail. If the acknowledgment e-mail is not received, the exhibitor should

resend the original e-mail again. Substitutions may be made for the same breed and class only.

12. No dogs are allowed in the barns or show arena.

13. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the fairgrounds.

14. Neither ODGA nor the Fairfield County Fairgrounds will be held responsible for losses, damage

or accidents. Any person or family not exhibiting proper behavior as judged by the show

committee will be required to leave immediately and will not be permitted to return for the

remainder of the show. Parents/guardians or an adult willing to take responsibility for

child/children under the age of 12 are required to control their child/children at all times or proper

authorities will be called and ALL will be asked to leave immediately.

New for 2019

The Traveler’s Award – The Traveler’s Award is to be presented to the exhibitor who traveled the farthest to attend the 2019 Buckeye Classic. To qualify for this award write your estimated mileage to the fairgrounds on your entry form.

 

The Exhibitor’s Award – The Exhibitor’s Award is to be presented to the exhibitor with the most entires over both days of shows.

Both awards will be presented in between the Senior Doe and Junior Doe shows on Sunday, June 23, 2019

 

Youth Goat Costume Contest – This year there will be a goat costume contest for youth at the 2019 Buckeye Classic. Kids will be judged based on creativity and effort put into their costumes. Kid and goat costumes are encouraged to correlate with each other. Judging will take place in between the senior doe and junior doe show on Sunday.

 

Youth Ice Cream Social – There will also be a youth ice cream social that all youth are encouraged to attend. It will be held at the conclusion of the Costume Contest on Sunday.

 

 

FEES:

ENTRIES RECEIVED BY 6/18/19

$6.00 per goat, per ring if entry is RECEIVED by 6/18/19

$5.00 per goat if entered in all 4 rings (3 rings for bucks) ($20 per doe, $15 for bucks)

ENTRIES RECEIVED AFTER 6/18/19 (LATE ENTRIES)

$8.00 per goat, per ring if entry is received AFTER 6/18/19

$7.00 per goat if entered in all 4 rings (3 rings for bucks) ($28 per doe, $21 for bucks)

-  No charge for showmanship.

-  All fees must accompany mailed entries and are non-refundable. Checks payable to ODGA.

-  All entires made via e-mail will be expected to be paid via PayPal at the time of submission.

Failure to do so will result in Late Entry fee rates. Online entries can be paid via PayPal to odgatreasurer2017@gmail.com .

-  Exhibitors who have pre-entered multiple goats may enter more day of show at pre-entry rates.

PEN FEES: $2.00 per pen

CAMPING: $30 per night, payable at the show. Anyone camping, with or without hookups, will be required to pay the camping fee and  MUST park/set-up in the designated area. Sleeping in the barn, without a fee, is permitted.
